Topanga Wedding is a beautiful, indica-dominant strain I picked up from Cultivation Club in downtown Oklahoma City. It was grown in-house. The price point is $40 per eighth (currently on sale for $36), which seems pretty average/standard.

As long as it lives up to its expectations, it should be worth every dime. Let’s find out…

Appearance

Topanga Wedding is beautiful! Dense, bright green buds with hues of purple and orange pistils. Combining the best components of its parents — the classic Wedding Cake and Topanga Canyon OG — Topanga Wedding creates big, bright green and orange buds encased with a thick frosting of beautiful crystal trichomes!

While the buds are hard, almost rock-like, they break up easily and release an amazing smell.

Aroma

Upon smelling the buds, I am overwhelmed with the potency, ranging from a wide variety of sharp citrus flavors like lemon and lime, mixed with an earthy, diesel-like smell. There are even hints of maple syrup and vanilla, which make Topanga Wedding feel even more like a treat.

I consider myself to be someone with a ridiculously high tolerance, so when a couple of bowls get me where I need to be, I know it’s my kind of strain!

Effects

Hits hard, fast and decisively. I smoked this strain out of my freshly cleaned pipe, and the taste was very aromatic, fresh and airy — but still earthy. The effects didn’t take long to come on; shortly after I felt relaxed…almost sedated. I usually tend to lean towards indicas, being somebody who can be very anxious and high-strung, and this strain left me feeling at ease.

This full body high will have you wanting to crawl into bed and watch a movie — or maybe that’s just me. 😉

Overall

I was very pleased with this strain! It met the expectations I had based on the bud itself — down to the way it smoked and the way it had me feeling. The only downside to your typical indica can be that sometimes the sedative properties turn you sluggish and put you to bed!

However, Topanga Wedding did a pretty good job of leaving me clear headed and in control, which can be an important factor to ensure you don’t smoke yourself to sleep! Because who wants to pay for that?
